Old News

14-Nov-1999

I am sorry that I did not update the homepage for such a long period of time. I was busy with "other things". But now these things are set and done, so I have time to work on the HP again!
Not-so-good-News: Uplink is down since almost two weeks now. I have been told that the server is being upgraded and that it might be online again next week. Lets hope the best.
Dubtwist, the alleged webmaster of Clan Armygeddon whipped up a rather nice website. Since he is still working on it things might and will change. Nice work so far, it also offers a listing of active QuakeTF players. Our players seem to reside on the upper end of the ranking list as far as I have seen... You will also be able to read interviews with me and Galactik there soon. I am getting famous! :-)
I finally got my nice and cute domain name, klendathu.de. I already regged this months ago. But hey, nothing´s perfect. Expect some changes to the website soon. Oh yes, I know where "Klendathu" comes from.
More and more DLc players seem to be "inactive". Galactik was off for like 3 weeks, and as he told me yesterday this due to a disabled phone line at his flat in Paris. Will change soon I hope! Uzi Lover has also been rather inactive and Liluh just won´t play anymore as long as Uplink is down. Doh! I don´t really know what happened to Miva and Cerber.
Uninteresting News: Clan Risen is no more. Sick and tired of constantly getting thorked by LPB- and VoiceCommunication-Clans they merged with another QuakeWeen, erm, QuakeWorld clan called "Angry Angels" (Yes, some people do know "Space: Above and beyond"). The new bunch of people is called "Risen Angels" or just RA. If you really want to visit their website go to the AGO page. I think they got them linked. If not, pff.
You had the opportunity to meet some RA people at the Home Electronics World in Cologne this Saturday (13-Nov-99). The HEW must have been boring from what I have heard.

Anyone porting TeamFortress2 to PPC/G4 or QNX?

New Maps:
2fortse aka 2Forts Special Edition
WarGrounds.
The first map is a much better looking and slightly bigger version of 2Fort5. It also has no glitches, flashes or whatever bugs when using Amiga68kQuake. At least *I* did not see any bugs. Can be downloaded in our Files-Section.
WarGrounds is a map done by SaTaNiX from the Armygeddon Clan. It is very small and may be fun, although it will be a PITA for lagged players. We will see.
Maps that have been removed in favor of the above mentioned levels:
MassiveTF. Glitches and flashes on Amiga68kQuake. Unplayable.
2sarge4. Even the latest version, 2sarge5r is full of sticky places. The author was not even able to have the bridge parts fit together correctly. Kicked it.
Sorry for the inconvenience :-) But 2fortse looks REALLY great! You will not regret downloading it.

No, Galactiks eMail has not changed again.
Skull-Fuck joined our ranks, for now only for the next two weeks but if we like what we see we will be more than happy to see him in our clan.
Welcome Skull-Fuck and don´t let the Pantsbug get you! (Unfortunately I had to remove the "-" from your name, or otherwise the too large picture would have corrupted the page layout...oops :-) )

Uplink is back on the net again so we will hopefully see you (yes, YOU!) there for some gibbing.

09-Oct-1999

Galactik once again chaned his eMail address, this time it is galactik@flashmail.com. Please update accordingly.

08-Oct-1999

Batman left the DarkLegion Clan "due to personal reasons".

05-Oct-1999

Made a new DLc logo. The main page now looks much "smoother" in style. If you cannot see it then reload!! :-)

03-Oct-1999

The kind guys at Uplink provided us with a new and shiny TF-Server! The servers address is game.uplink.de and the Website is located at www.game.uplink.de. Everyone is welcome to play there!
Current experiences with this new server vary from "little bit slower than 137.226.116.82 but less packetloss" to "ohmigod, my ping lowered by 300 ms!!" (Liluh). Go and have a try :-)
Please be aware that several maps not available on the CR servers have been added to the Uplink-Votemap. You can grab them on our Files-Section or leech the complete map-archive on the Servers Homepage. It is zipped and has 39.5 MB...
CoV, DLc and Uplink wish happy fragging and no packetloss!

25-Sep-1999

Ohmigod! Neverending story. I happily mixed several map descriptions. Fixed.
Thanks to Thematic for some enhanced map texts.

24-Sep-1999

Some links to TF maps were fux0red...oops! Fixed.
Please do not force me to sort the map list in, like, alphabetical order :-)
I removed the former index.htm, in advance of the former inside.htm.
Please also tell any broken links, as well as not correctly displaying tables (i.e. with Netrape Communicator).

23-Sep-1999

Removed the link to www.amiga.de. Added the TF main files (was about time!).

21-Sep-1999

I added several new maps to the files section, they will be played on the Uplink server. Please download them.
I also noticed that Dubtwist from AGO has a different clanmatch score than I have. Why? Because I did not count the third round Dubtwist mentions to the clanmatch (should I?). No flames please :-)
Thematic also put some demos online, check his homepage. Yes, english version available.

13-Sep-1999

Now on to the meat of things - as written below. In Round One DLc pretty dominated the game without any bigger problems. It seems to me that AGO´s strategy was more defensive than offensive, since two of their offensive players were unavailable. Would have been a good idea if the rest of our people had shown up. But so we had to play more def than off too. Shit happens. So their offensives were quite weak. But their def-team did a nice job with their sentries although Galactik and I killed them with glee. All in all it was quite clear that we caught AGO with their pants down in this round.

Round One Score: 132 DLc - 38 AGO

But in Round Two things went different. This Round was played in, on and around 2fort5, while Round One was in Bases. Rhino and Satanix, their Snipers, made a lot more frags than in the first half. We were playing our (for this match) standard setup, two engis, a soldier, a demoman and a medic (me). This was the setup we started the game with. Later on, Liluh and Amorel found the time to take part in the slaughter so the teams were almost evened out. This time it was a lot more difficult to get thru their sentry defense, their sentry gun placed on the lede in the ramp room by Hafi was a real PITA :-) It really seems that either they are playing much better in the second round or we were just dead beat.

Round Two Score: 171 DLc - 79 AGO

Total Score: 303 DLc - 117 AGO

This time we unfortunately were not as effective as on 24th of July, our ratio this time was only 100:39 while we played 100:36 last time. (Oh yes, this calculation is correct! All results standardized to 100)
Nevertheless more luck next time, AGO! And BIG thanks for the match, which was a lot of fun!
Galactiks eMail changed too. Please update accordingly. Here are the pictures of the score tables: (Click to get more legible results)

12-Sep-1999

Although we beat AGO again in both rounds, we were showing a lame performance because the only DLc members that were on the server when the match began were Batman, Myself and Thematic. Later on (after the match was going on for almost 10 minutes) Galactik stopped by, due to problems with his ISP. Cobra had to play as ringer in our team, thanks to him and AGO for letting him play on our side. As if this would have not been enough problems for one night, AGO suffered from lag and Dubtwist had QUITE a few disconnects.

In round one we annihilated AGO (same in the last clanmatch), it seems they have to warm-up first or something, because in round two they were playing noticeably better. Their snipers performed well for their ping. Enough for this time, tomorrow I will put screenshots of both scores and a more detailled game description here.

Thanks for the match, AGO, and sorry for using a ALLDEF bastard tactic...

08-Sep-1999

Yep, we will fight the Armygeddon Clan on Saturday the 11th of September again. Good luck to us all then...

29-Aug-1999

I really hope the tables and their content display fine now. Sorry for the messy experience. I also added the maps, finally. On September the 11th we most probably will face AGO again.

08-Aug-1999

Oh well. This happens when you test your HTML-Code not thoroughly enough. While it looked great on Internet Exploder it looked like shit on Voyager and Opera. What? The filenames on the files page. I made a silly mistake and IE does not even display it. grrftjx.

Some internal updates, go and check your mail.

07-Aug-1999

Reworked the filessection. Looks better now and stuff is much easier to find. Map Download will be possible in the next days. I guess the maps will be lzx´ed to save space. Of course I could not finish the final update today, it will be uploaded in the next days(s) as well.

06-Aug-1999

Added a new .pak file. I added a new and much better Assault Cannon (hey Uzi :-) ) plus new sound for it. A nice axe also found its way into the .pak, plus a new tranquilizer gun sound. Expect some more soon.

Download the file pakX2.lzx HERE

05-Aug-1999

Another minor update. Added provisional rank names so everyone knows his damn role now :-)
Sorry Galactik for accidentally moving your eMail address to Germany.
Batman made a interesting suggestion, which UNFORTUNATELY only applies for German players. A german phone co offers internet access for FREE on 11-Aug-1999, the day of the total eclipse. Batman thought it would be funny to play TeamFortress the whole day...if you manage to successfully dialin there.

What do the german ppl from the other clans think?? German non-clanners are wanted too of course! :) The motto could be like "The Total TF Eclipse" or something..

Hey Batman, dann schmeissen wir die Kisten halt schon um 08:00 Uhr an :-))

02-Aug-1999

Of course Uzi Lover is now a full member. Sorry, I completely forgot to update accordingly. His eMail address also changed. Again changed many pictures and buttons. Hope you all like it. The picture quality has also been improved (I hope so) while the filesizes remain acceptable.

26-Jul-1999

Oops! Of course it was NOT the 28-Jul-1999 we fought against AGO, but the 24-Jul-1999. Looks like I cannot count, eh? Anyways I should have updated the Homepage much sooner, but I was busy slee, erm working. At the beginning of the match we all found out that at least one AGO member was missing so they only had 5 players and we had 6 players. But looking at the hardware and ping of three of our members (3 060 Amigas, one with 600+ Ping) AGO gave their OK for the 6:5 match. I don´t know if this was not a mistake tho.. To make it short: we won. The first round (both rounds were played on BAM4) was 138:56 for us. The second round was 141:44 which is a total score of mmmh, 279:100. During the second round Wax jumped in for a AGO-player that bailed out due to crash or whatever and stayed till the end of the match so the second round partially saw equal teams member-wise.

A match report will follow when I have finished the Clanmatch-Page :-) As I will also rework the files section the Demos recorded by me will be available only HERE

Demos recorded by others might become publically available too.

Thanks for the match, AGO! It was fun, altho not completely fair (but you all agreed, AGO ;-) ). Let´s play again soon, if not even on a regular basis. Tell us your opinion about that. No, don´t mail it to me but to Galactik because his mailbox wants some mails...

18-Jul-1999

Clanmatch against AGO will be next Saturday (28-Jul-1999).

05-Jul-1999

Uzi Lover joined as a "light" member today, which means he will get a different DLc Tag and is suggested to closely work together with the full members (like watching their back) he wants to convince he´ll be a good addition to our clan. At least two "Yes" are needed, if we stumble across a "No" - well, let´s see. If everything runs as expected he will receive his full DLc Tag after this two weeks. He plays as HeavyWeapons Guy btw. and thus can strengthen our defenses. Uzi, I´m pretty darn sure you´ll make it! I heard from Galactik a match against AGO is on its way. Stay tuned for further information.
As Uzi Lover is from the UK we seem to become a really European bunch of people now ;-)

02-Jul-1999

Whew, I found the CR link again. Many things happened, unfortunately I don´t really remember all the dates. I´list ´em anyways:
- Galactik got his ping back! And it´s a cutie! Expect some serious fragging now. Bad news here, he plays on a Intel Celery CPU, huargh..
- Changed the Layout of the Links-Page. Added new pics.
- Changed picture on inside.htm. Looks better now.
- Was able to squeeze some bytes out of all pictures, now they are MUCH smaller! Your phone bill will thank you :-)
- A easter egg (yes, despite it´s July!) has been placed somewhere.
- More internal changes I cannot even remember.

18-Jun-1999

Woops! The CR link got lost.

05-Jun-1999

Doh! Inconceivable changed his name back to Batman after a little "conversation" with me (it was just too long). Phew. I fixed some more nasty typos everywhere, if you find more TELL ME. Thanks.

04-Jun-1999

Reinforcements have arrived! Inconceivable will now treat our foes with his TNT diet. As a former member of the now non-existant AmigaQuakeMercenaries (AQM), known as Batman then, he has a nice little treasurebox of experience.. Welcome to the club, Inconceivable (darnit, we have to think about a abbreviation for that one)! AGO will face CR in a clanmatch this very saturday night, so better not join 137.226.116.82 around midnight. Furthermore DSKAG will fight against CR too, saturday in one week. Good luck to all of you! Changed numerous things on the whole site, fixed some unbelievable typos and grammar mistakes on the About-Page (must´ve been stoned or something) and other things I cannot remember anymore. Strategy-Section in the works. Files-Section update almost complete. New member list design approaching soon.
Estoroth got intellectual diarrhea from continued use of PC-Software, especially Outlook Express. Get better, Esto!

11-May-1999

Cleaned the About-Stuff a little bit. Found the time to upload the HP to the server. Changed various texts on the memberlist. Added link to the newest AmigaQuake clan, the Armygeddon Clan, which is currently in desperate need of some more members.

09-May-1999

Amorel joined the DLc. You might know him from some of his nice hardcore mods that can be found on Aminet. He also is the author of the AmoralPlayer, a multi-format mod player. Amorels main class is medic, altho he will switch to Sniper/Spy when the situation allows or demands it. Welcome to the team, Amorel!

23-Apr-1999

Created new buttons, now they are more Quake style than the old ones. Also did a new DLC logo on the inside page. Changed the descriptions of each member too.

19-Apr-1999

Added 3 new Demos to the files section. Added one new link. Galactik´s back too.

12-Apr-1999

Galactik will be away this week. He said he´ll be on a seminar, but DLc´s spy satellite located him on the Hawaiian Beach sipping Margaritas with some unknown beauties <G>

09-Apr-1999

The new layout and design of the page is nearly completed. If I have the time to create new pics, it´ll get nicer of course ;-) Had problems with the tables displaying correctly on Netrape Communicator. Voyager displays them fine tho.

02-Apr-1999

Thematic joined our clan. As his main class is the Pyro, we can now open the BBQ season! Only a few members more and we can think about Clan matches. We´d like to have at least one more soldier, maybe a good spy and a full-time Demolitions Man. Just have a look at the Memberlist, and you´ll see what classes we need. Contact us if you think you suit well to our Clan.

Found a nice TF poem at http://207.106.139.109/

The Unnoticed
by Catalyst

I am the person you always see at your home base.
I am the one that never sees the enemy base unless I respawn there.
I am a Defender.

I am the one that gives you my ammo when I really don't have enough as it is.
I am the one that saves some health for you, instead of taking it all myself.
I am a Defender.

I am the one that defends our flag with an axe if I have to,
and I don't complain when I die doing it,
even if you get a bonus for capturing and I get none for defending.
I am a Defender.
I am the last one to complain about my ping times.
I never get upset when I get killed due to lag or typing in console.
I am a Defender.

I do not hesitate to put my body in between a rocket and my flag carrier,
and it gives me pride to do so.
I am a Defender.

I apologize when I capture the flag,
because it means I did not do my job
and protect the one originally carrying the flag.
I am a Defender.

I never care if my frag count is low,
it's the team score that I live and breathe for.
A small ego have I.
I am a Defender.

I am the one that tells the team constantly what I am doing,
what condition I am in and what the status of our base is.
I am a Defender.

I am the one that you can always depend on,
the one you never enter a map and wonder what position I will be playing,
or who will be watching your back for you.
I am a Defender.

I am the behind the scenes player.
I am your most valuable ally,
yet the most often overlooked.
I am a Defender, and damn proud of it.

Changed the content of the pages a bit, added some stuff.
