| The DarkLegion Clan was founded in December 1998 by Galactik. He had that idea since A_Storm made jokes about having a new clan to fool around with. Sure Galactik couldn´t have cared less about jokes or not, so Ye Olde French spent the next time with looking for people joining his noble quest. The first players to be asked were Miva and Liluh. As they are leading members of our Clan you can see they were quite interested. Several people joined us, and even one player left us since then. We still have some Amiga players among us, one even playing with a 68060! Of course this somehow reflects in the ping times which used to result in different explanations of what "DLc" really means. Quite some time ago a valid one was "Damn Lagged Clan", but with our US-based players that is no longer true (same with Galactiks ping from Paris). So think of something else if you want to annoy us! Try joining the non-DLc team until you really outnumber us and play Scout for example :-) We will have a little surprise for you then. "But...why are you still playing NetQuake, instead of the much kEWler and advanced QuakeWorld??" you might ask yourself. The answer was rather simple till id Software released the Quake/QuakeWorld/*Quake sources - there was no QuakeWorld port for our preferred computer system, the Amiga. But now this is different. There will be stable ports, and we will have to see if we switch to QuakeWorld. But most of us still prefer NetQuake. We just like the oldskool Quake :-) |
